Step into the heart of SoHo and discover Gem Home, a charming café that combines the invigorating atmosphere of a modern coffee spot with a curated selection of unique home goods. Nestled at 181 Mott St, New York, NY 10012, this quaint little gem serves as the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

What sets Gem Home apart is not only its delightful menu but also the inviting ambiance that greets you upon entry. The café exudes a cozy, Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic, with ample seating in the back that encourages you to linger a little longer, perhaps with a good book or a friend. Whether you’re here for a quick pick-me-up or a relaxed bite, the vibe is set perfectly for both.

The menu features an array of wholesome options that cater to every craving. Start your day right with the breakfast plate, a thoughtful assembly of fresh ingredients that tantalizes your senses. For a lighter option, the Smoked Trout Tartine with Jammy Egg (US$10.00) is a delightful combination of flavors, while the Mortadella and Pistachio Butter Sandwich (US$16.00) offers a savory crunch that's hard to resist. Don’t forget to pair your meal with a refreshing La Cabra Iced Coffee (US$5.00) or try the intriguing Seabuckthorn Turmeric Tonic (US$10.00) for an exotic twist.

Customers rave about the experience at Gem Home, spotlighting its exceptional service and quality. Samantha K describes her visit as “beyond incredible,” emphasizing the freshness and taste of her breakfast order, coupled with “super friendly and helpful” staff. If you find yourself in the area after indulging in a shopping spree, Laci Kim recommends stopping by for a quick drink, particularly their delightful sobacha, and exploring their selection of unique pantry items. Zachariah Sky appreciates the “well-curated” home goods that distinguish the shop from other busy spots in SoHo, making it a preferred destination for those who value quality.

While the café can get busy, it is a testament to its popularity. You might want to arrive early to snag a cozy corner seat or be prepared to indulge in a little wait. As Ed A. noted, missing the high pizza prices and long lines for trendy spots was a win, as Gem Home hit the spot perfectly, combining value with an unforgettable culinary experience.

Beyond incredible! Got the breakfast plate, rose bun and iced coffee. Everything was delicious and very fresh. Service was excellent and super friendly/helpful. Seating is first come first serve and it is busy so I would recommend trying to grab a seat before you order, or not minding waiting. I ordered first and only had to wait about 5 minutes before someone left and I was able to sit, but this might be harder for larger groups.

A cute little cafe to stop in for a quick drink or a bite after a soho shopping day. Their sobacha has very delicious and so was their beer! They have cute little trinkets for sale in the back as well as some unique pantry staples (fun salts, hot sauces, etc)

Gem Home is a cafe and mini home goods store mixed together, though we only came here for the home goods portion. Their selection wasn't too big, but the pieces were pretty unique. Prices were reasonable, though it did feel kind of crammed inside the space. The food looks good, but the place was quite busy and a bit hectic.

Best bread and food I have had in a long time. Love all the home goods they carry, very well curated. If you are looking for a unique place to grab a bite and do a little shopping that feels like a break from the bustle of soho, look no further.

Lovely coffee spot with lots of seating in the back. They serve regular coffee (no espresso) and tea and some fresh juices. Definitely gives Danish coffee shop vibes

Amazing little cozy spot with a great selection of quick bites and drinks. I originally came to the area for that extremely hyped up pizza spot around the corner, but I’m so glad I skipped the long lines and those gentrified high pizza prices there and cane here instead. This hidden gem really hit the spot, and I’ll definitely be coming back! Money and my time definitely well spent.

The sourdough at Gem Home was a completely new experience for me! The dough is incredibly chewy and delicious when paired with butter. For dessert, I also tried the hazelnut financier and the choux cookie, which were delicious. I’m so happy to have discovered such a unique spot in New York. The atmosphere and food are excellent. I highly recommend trying it!
